Array Full post coming later today–right now, the Boston Globe’s latest article about the Idol tour contains a brief review of last night’s Worcester show, along with a great quote from Bucky:Asked about being on tour and away from the competitive pressures of the show, members of the Idols troupe seemed nearly as enraptured as their fans were.I feel free, man, Young said during an abbreviated session with reporters. out there. There’s also an interesting comparison of the Worcester and Manchester shows posted at the Fox boards, and a possible Rocky Covington sighting mentioned in this recap by a lucky Elliott Yamin fan at E-Train Station.

I recalled our whole trip down to NC last year and how Ryan and I were here and Wayne flew down to be with us. It was an all day affair to get here, but Wayne would go to any length to be with us. Not our usual day together, but a way to understand that he exists still, on another plane, that we can’t see, but believe in.I’m sure people don’t usually discuss things of this nature, but since his passing, there have been too many things happening in my life that would be considered considences. It has been a nice time down here and I need for us to get away for awhile, but now is the time to go home, face the music and try to start a new life path for Ryan and I. That when it is my time to go, Wayne will be waiting for me and tell me that I did a great job and have made him proud.

You’ll have to take my word that the average Saturday around here is a lot more exciting that what you’ll get today. If it is a collector’s item, maybe Dickens and I could go on that Roadhouse show for ‘tards and do that phony “I never thought it was worth that much” That has got to be one of the lamest shows ever conceived.Oh, remember that Pignose amp that has been there forever? To a lady who needs an amp to do her puppet show. The book was published in 1987 at a time when people who had obviously never visited California actually thought New York City was the “greatest city of the 20th century”. Yeah, if it is such a great place, why did even Al Capone clear out?Right at quitting time these three ladies came it. It has been at least ten years since I’ve heard three of them all talking at the same time. They had great difficulty with the concept that a 5 volt and 12 volt power supply were not the same thing.I know just the television show they would enjoy.

Both crawlers and minnows were working and it just depends who you talked to as to what worked best. The Baumanns, Lederers, Vandervries, and Zelinski groups all seemed to do well, they fished early sometimes leaving at 4:30 a.m. Dale Schlapper and his family caught some nice walleyes also and it was sure nice to see them back at the lodge.

(Photo: Tommie and me at a Tuesday market last year)(1:51 AM) Boy I am keeping some regular late hours these days. I’m starting to feel slightly nocturnal. So after my last blog entry a couple of nights ago, I still had all this work to do, but was tired and a little hungry. I tried some triple seed crackers with some of Nur’s leeks late at night and it tasted so good and right that I ended up eating about 12-13 of them with a container of leeks and then I followed that up with about 20 or so candied walnuts. Uh-oh. This seemed like a good idea at the time, but an hour or so later I felt weird. This weird feeling has stayed with me more or less since then. I woke up Wednesday and felt strange, like my tummy was not happy about the amount of seeds and walnuts I consumed the night before. I don’t quite know how to describe the feeling I had because its a bit new to me, but I will try: a tight throat, a slight headache, a stuck tummy - like things aren’t digesting. My face was puffy in the morning as it has been before other times when I had over 10 or so crackers. So I took it easy on Wednesday. Sometime after noon, I had a bmax/coco drink and then around 3:30 I ate a very large bowl of marinated greens w/ avocado. Then I tried something new: for dessert, well it wasn’t dessert, but it felt so decadent like a dessert, I took 1/2 avocado and mixed it with some more of Nur’s leeks. It was incredible. But I must have eaten too much or too quickly, because I started to feel weird again. Headachey, closed throat and a stuck tummy. This feeling lasted for the rest of the evening. I still felt it when I went to bed around 2:30. The good news is I woke up feeling better this morning. I got up around 10 or 10:30. I was still feeling somewhat odd and afraid of the feelings I had had the day before, so I didn’t eat until 1. I had a couple of oranges and was feeling fine. At one o clock I had a reunion date in the park with my dear super special friend Tommie. I had the best time. I LOVE being with Tommie. Tommie and I used to be market neighbors at the Tuesday market until she had to stop coming to that market for various reasons. Man did we used to have some serious fun sharing green smoothies and kombucha. I miss her so much all the time and I rarely get to see her anymore. She lives about two hours away, is a sprout farmer and is also transitioning to raw food. She is so incredible and positive and full of joy and goodness. It really is a treat to be in her presence. We had a wonderful time catching up. She brought all these delicious raw goodies. I missed my camera so much today. I wanted to take pictures of her in her beautiful cotton dress and all her yummy raw creations to share with you on this blog. I tasted a little of everything, but I was starting to feel weird again, like my body was saying dont eat food!”, so I didnt eat very much, but heres the strange thing: the weird feelings did return. They have been on and off since then. I ate the most wonderful salad in the world today around 5:30: my homegrown lettuce picked just minutes before, Tommies fresh pea and sunflower shoots, 1/2 avocado, 1/8 cup soaked pumpkin seeds and honey mustard dressing. By the way, the honey in the dressing is raw honey from my friend Jay, the beekeeper. Let me tell you, I was still so high from spending time with Tommie, and then that salad was so full of flavor and love from me, Tommie, and Jay that it sent me straight to cloud 9. Over the top. After the salad I had 5 oz of raw spinach dip from Tommie and then I finished it off with 1 serving of cashew butter/cacao/honey. Unfortunately, the weird feelings returned again soon after eating. Around 9 or 10 I drank a little sweet herbal tea. Then around midnight I had 20 sprouted chili almonds from Tommie and a watered down glass of chocolate brazil nut milk, hoping it might help me feel better. It did actually. I felt unstuck and energized for at least an hour, but now I am feeling weirdness all over again. Sigh. What to do, what to do…I dont quite understand. Well see what tomorrow brings…

I am a superhero, or a goddess, but not in real life, where sometimes I cower in my house.3. The cats are nutso, but I love them too.10. I have recently become obsessed with knitting, which I taught myself to do a few weekends ago. Knitting calms me.15. I do not love running because I feel like a trundling lump.23. Partly this is circumstantial, partly because my bike is a hair too big, and partly it is because it takes so much time.27. And who I have a really great time with.38. We really try not to do that, my recent visit to the Virgin Megastore excepted.41. But the knitting comes first.51. The PP is an exception, but it took me a long time to learn to do that.59. I do not really like to shop, but recently I have been thinking a lot about shoes.64. I wish I played more, and that I had real musical ability.73. I just finished knitting my fourth scarf.92. That leaves 2 partials to go.93. I find knitting scarves out of that ribbon where there are little strings everywhere CONFUSING.94. My favorite part of the knitting is the yarn.95. Soon I will learn to knit hats.96. And how to use those round knitting needles.99. I will wrap the entire world in little knitted things.100.

-ne QUITO, March 20 (Reuters) - Hundreds of police ringed Ecuador’s Congress on Tuesday to prevent fired lawmakers from entering the building as President Rafael Correa wrestled with legislators resisting his plans for broad political overhaul.Fifty-seven lawmakers have rejected an election court decision to fire them for opposing Correa’s plan for an April 15 referendum that could usher in constitutional reforms to curb the influence of Congress. The 57 represent more than half of the 100-member Congress. Some of the dismissed lawmakers threatened to break through a cordon of riot police armed with batons while other sacked legislators said they may try to hold a parallel session elsewhere in the capital. But Ramsses Torres, a left-wing lawmaker sympathetic with Correa, said government supporters would hold a session on Tuesday with substitutes for the fired lawmakers.

By Alexandra ValenciaQUITO, March 20 (Reuters) - Ecuador’s Congress replaced fired lawmakers and convened on Tuesday in an apparent victory for President Rafael Correa over opposition legislators resisting his plans to curb their influence.Correa, a left-winger elected in November, has been locked in a power struggle with lawmakers since March 7, when a court sacked 57 of them from the 100-member chamber for obstructing his plans for a referendum on rewriting the constitution. The fired lawmakers had said they would seek to take their seats in the building, which was ringed by hundreds of police wielding batons to prevent a repeat of last week’s clashes when opposition members tried to force their way inside. But Congress President Jorge Cevallos on Tuesday swore in 21 substitutes and allowed the legislature to hold a session without the fired lawmakers. We will obey the will of the people, substitute lawmaker Cesar Alonso said. Congress needs at least 51 lawmakers to hold a session and 55 were present.Correa was monitoring developments and hopes that Congress will start working in line with the peoples demands,” a government spokeswoman said.Elected in November, Correa is popular for promising to sweep away the influence of traditional political parties whom many Ecuadoreans blame for the instability that has ousted three presidents in the last decade. He wants an April 15 vote on holding a popular assembly to rewrite the constitution. With his strongest opponents now out of Congress, Correa should be able to push ahead with his political proposals and key economic reforms, experts said.”This is an evident victory for Correa… the opposition has lost a lot of power,” said Simon Pachano, analyst with Ecuadors branch of the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences. The government also probably has struck a deal with the substitutes.Correas opponents fear the U.S.-trained economist and former finance minister will seek to rewrite the constitution to strengthen presidential powers as his left-wing ally, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, did after his 1998 election.Wall Street has been monitoring Ecuadors political developments closely after Correa promised to use his mandate to restructure bonds and rewrite foreign oil contracts in South Americas fifth-largest crude producer.

-ne IHT, Mar 20, 2007QUITO, Ecuador: Ecuador’s constitutional crisis took a new twist as alternate lawmakers were escorted into Congress under the cover of darkness and sworn in to replace some of the legislators fired by the country’s highest electoral court. Correa has acknowledged that administration officials met with groups of alternate congressmen to encourage them to take up the posts left by the dismissal of the regular legislators, but it is unclear what affect the alternate lawmakers will have on Correa’s influence in Congress. Alvaro Noboa, the billionaire banana baron defeated in November’s presidential election runoff, accused Correa of offering the alternate lawmakers money or other favors to get them to take up their posts in Congress, which the president has called a sewer of corruption.

-ne On Thursday morning Em drove me up to the Rhodes Memorial where there is a trail head leading to the trail up and around Table Mountain. After going in a generally upward direction for a while, I came across a group of colored people clearing the trail. is not pejorative, and several colored South Africans have broken out in laughter when I told them that we call colored people “mixed race.” When I asked why, she replied that she had heard that in the US it was much better for colored people than in South Africa and she wanted to experience what that is like. It was spectacular, although Em was a bit confused which is understandable given that it was a very high, solemn sung Mass requiring quite a bit of familiarity with the South African Book of Common Prayer which I was not even particularly familiar with. A few things to note were that Emily and I were the youngest people there (not too surprising) and that the priests were all colored, the verger black, and the congregation almost entirely white.

OK, I didn’t really imagine the pins as her head but it made me feel better hurling a 16 pound piece of stone down a lane filled with pins at 40 mph.

Every time I come to the computer lab I spend the whole time catching up on my sports reading ( gtsports.blogspot.com , chazsports.blogspot.com , and Bill Simmons on ESPN.com’s Page2 ) and talking on AIM. Lindsay, Emily, and Owen went in one car, and Seth, Clark, and I went in the other. Clark has a nice video of Seth, Owen, and I running into the water and falling off a 1 foot drop just before we were going to dive into the waves. Good times. After we got out of the water (which wasn’t really that cold), Owen wanted to try out Seth’s new football (the kind they use for Aussie rules football, the greatest game ever. The first teams were Owen and Clark against me and Seth. Both Seth and I are big and slow, while Clark is smaller and quicker, and Owen is bigger and quicker. After a quick swim for halftime, we switched to Clark and Seth against Owen and me. Seth and Clark jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead despite my team’s size advantage. I told Owen that he needed to guard Clark because I was too slow. After a few close calls for either team, Owen and I crafted a nice possession that left him with an easy kick right in front of their goal. We had the ball deep in our own end, and Owen decided to go for the gold. The crowd went wild, and I took a victory lap in the ocean to wash off the sand.We went back into town for dinner (pretty good Italian pizza/pasta place) and then headed back to the beach to spend the night.

-ne In my post on New England Australia - Writers I spoke of Alex Buzo.I learned today that he had died. Added force is given to this because my wife has just left to take daughter Clare to school for the opening of the Wizard of Oz, a performance that Alex’s youngest daughter is taking part in.ABC radio today has carried initial tributes to Alex as a writer. So this is a personal reflection on Alex, his family and me.I mentioned in my writer’s post that Zihni, Alex’s dad, had come to Armidale for the building of the Oakey Hydro Scheme. I am not sure when he actually started writing, but he did I think have a first play workshopped in 1967, with a full production of Norm and Ahmed in 1968.While Alex had left Armidale he retained his links. But there were compensations among the troubles for Alex and the family.I was especially pleased that Alex was receiving some recognition for his long career and writing achievements. There were interviews, Currency Press put on a private reading of two of his plays that I was lucky enough to be able to attend with daughter Helen. Alex also received an honorary doctorate from his old university, the University of New South Wales.I knew that Alex was again very sick.

As it was, Campbell did admirably to break into the Forest team for the second half of the 1985/86 season, enjoying a run of 27 consecutive Division One appearances through to the following season. It was Campbell’s impressive First Division form that prompted Billy Bingham to call him up as Northern Ireland searched for the right squad mix to take to the World Cup Finals in Mexico. Indeed, the following season began brightly with Campbell forcing his way back into the team, but it was clear that Clough still wasn’t confident in the youngster, and he was sold to Charlton Athletic for £75,000 in October 1987.On the international front, Campbell continued as a regular, playing in every one of Northern Ireland’s Euro ’88 qualification matches. In March 1994 Ronnie McFaul brought Campbell to Portadown as they pushed, ultimately unsuccessfully, for the double, eventually finishing Irish League runners-up to Linfield and losing in the Irish Cup semi-final to Bangor.A new beginning seemed on the horizon when Campbell was signed on a non-contract basis by Kenny Swain for Wigan Athletic in August 1994, but with Swain dismissed just a month of the season, Campbell found himself released in October after just seven games. It proved to be a miserable game, with Cambridge losing 6-0 (it had been scoreless at half-time), and Campbell suffering a broken leg which forced his retirement as a professional footballer.Since retiring from playing Campbell has run summer schools, coaching youngsters throughout the UK.Northern Ireland Cap Details:23-04-1986 Morocco…

In March of 2003, I selected Preston Wilson in the 19th round of our fantasy baseball draft. Two days later, while I was working at a sports store in Scottsdale, AZ, Preston Wilson walked in with his girlfriend. After he picked out a few things (over 200 worth of throwback jerseys) he came up to the register. I still didn’t really know who he was since he wasn’t that famous and tons of sports stars regularly came into the store, so I had to check the name on his credit card to be sure. After I realized it was Preston, I knew I had to say something. So I handed him his receipt and saidHey, youre on my fantasy team this year, so you better hook me up.”Wilson looked at me, laughed and said, “Okay.” With that he and his girlfriend picked up their bags and left the store. The next six months Preston spent tearing up NL pitching and setting career highs in every offensive category with a .282 BA, 36 HRs, and 141 RBIs . Meanwhile, my fantasy team went on to lead the league in nearly every offensive category en route to a championship.I never saw Preston Wilson again, and as a result, his playing career suffered. Lets look at his stats since 2003.2004- played in only 58 games, hit only 6 home runs, and hit only .248.2005- was traded to the Nationals midseason and hit .260 for the year.2006- after 102 games with the Astros and 94 strikeouts, Wilson was released. So now that the St. Louis Cardinals picked him up this week, the ball is in your court Cardinal fans. For the right price, I will fly out to St. Louis and give the encouragement Preston needs to hear. Maybe Ill tell him that I picked him up for the stretch run, or maybe Ill tell him that I just picked him up off waivers and I need him to stop striking out. Im not sure yet, Ill figure all that out on my flight to Missouri. But what I am sure of is that Preston Wilson needs my help and so do all Birds fans.

Kirk Kerkorian, the father of the Las Vegas mega-resort, turned 90 yesterday. The Armenian-American billionaire Kerkorian is president of MGM and most intimately associated with the growth of Las Vegas. He was also responsible for building some of the biggest hotels on and off the strip. The Los Angeles based Kerkorian is the world’s 31st richest man and made his billions in shares in US auto manufacturers as well as Vegas’s hotels. He is also one of the most secretive of the super-rich, never giving interviews, making speeches, or accepting awards.Kerkorian is the original self-made American starting from nothing and now the holder of a 5 billion fortune. He owns five percent of General Motors worth 70 million and his company MGM Mirage owns half of the hotel rooms on the Las Vegas strip. He bought Steve Wynn’s Mirage Resorts in .4 billion buyout in 2000, then snapped up Mandalay Bay Resorts for .9 billion in 2004.He was born Kerkor Kerkorian on 6 June 1917 in Fresno, California. He dropped out of school and became a professional boxer. He became the Pacific amateur welterweight champion fighting under the name of Rifle Right Kerkorian. At the start of World War II, Kerkorian took flying lessons and gained a commercial pilot’s licence six months later. He signed up with the Royal Air Force and flew Canadian built de Havilland Mosquitos combat aircraft across the dangerous Arctic Circle route for use in the European theatre of war.As the war came to an end, he spent his ,000 savings on a Cessna plane and became a general aviation pilot. He regularly flew into a dusty railroad town called Las Vegas where he became familiar with the small gambling operations that sprung out of the desert. In 1947, he paid 0,000 for a small airline called Los Angeles Air Service which ran chartered flights to take gamblers to Las Vegas from Los Angeles. Cashed-up Californians were just starting to discover the allure of Las Vegas and Kerkorian’s renamed Transinternational Airlines shuttled celebrities, high rollers, elopers, and the occasional mobster to the 24-hour wedding chapels and casinos. Kerkorian was on the way up and so was Las Vegas. The name Las Vegas means ‘the meadows’ in Spanish. Its artesian wells were first used as a watering hole on the 1,200km Old Spanish Trail between Santa Fe and Los Angeles. A small Mormons contingent settled the area in 1855 to convert the local Paiute Indians. It became established as a railroad town in 1905 but it was two events in the 1930s that changed the town forever. Nevada legalised gambling in 1931 and the Hoover Dam was opened in 1936. The dam attracted tourists to the desert area and it was the closest town in Nevada to Los Angeles.Mobster Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel had fled New York to Los Angeles in 1937 and was attempting expand mob influence in Southern California. He was quick to understand the attraction between casinos and organised crime and saw his opportunity in Las Vegas. With the financial aid of fellow Murder Inc accomplice Meyer Lansky, he built his first casino, the Flamingo, which opened in 1946. It would be the first casino on what is now the 7.2km long Las Vegas Strip lined with mammoth casinos. The now wealthy Kerkorian bought his way on to the Strip by buying the Flamingo from the mob in 1967.By now Kerkorian had been in the airline business for twenty years and had built up a lot of capital. He was also a property player. His major break came in 1962 when he bought a 320,000 sq m property across the Strip from the Flamingo for 60,000. The property was actually separated from the Strip however by a narrow band of land belonging to another owner. It was landlocked, says Kerkorian, We traded the owners four or five acres for all of this thin strip that they could never build on. Caesars Palace contacted Kerkorian and rented it for million. He would eventually sell the land to Caesars Palace for another million in 1969.The Flamingo was just the start of his move into the hotel business. The same year he bought the Flamingo, he bought 33 hectares of land for million and built the International, the largest hotel in the world. Barbra Streisand was Kerkorian’s first headliner, but the hotel remains synonymous with another superstar. Elvis Presley was seen to be in decline and had been in exile from the stage for nine years. He flopped in Las Vegas back in 1956 but was now ready to return in triumph. He opened at the International on 31 July 1969. Over the next seven years, Presley gave 837 sold-out performances, playing Vegas for one month in the summer and another in midwinter while staying at a 30th floor suite at the hotel.Kerkorian bought the then unprofitable Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) for the first time in 1969. Kerkorian wasn’t interested in the studio; what attracted him was twofold, the MGM trademark and its Culver City real estate which was where MGM made movies since the silent film days of Hal Roach. Kerkorian proceeded to strip the assets and run down the studio. In 1979, he declared that MGM was now primarily a hotel company. In 1985 he sold the movie business to Ted Turner but bought most of it back 74 days later when Turner’s backers got cold feet (Turner retained the MGM film library which he used as the basis for his Turner Classic Movies channel). In 1990 Kerkorian sold MGM again to an Italian financier Giancarlo Parretti. But Parretti was unable to turn the movie studio around and was forced to sell up five years later. There was only one bidder: Kirk Kerkorian. But despite a new business plan the movie side of MGM continues to flounder. The endlessly lucrative James Bond franchise remains its only continued success. Meanwhile Kerkorian was also turning his attention and Midas touch to the automotive industry. Already a holder of 22 million shares, he paid 68 million in 2005 for 28 million GM shares. The deal netted him 9 per cent of the company and made his investment arm Tracinda Corporation (named for his daughters Tracy and Linda) the third largest shareholder of GM. Kerkorian is CEO, president, director and sole shareholder of Tracinda. Despite his advanced age, Kerkorian shows no sign of slowing down. In April this year, Tracinda made a .5 billion cash offer to buy the struggling Chrysler Group from Daimler. Kerkorian also reaches back into his Armenian heritage with his Lincy Foundation. It helped rebuild Armenia after the earthquake of 1988, with millions of dollars in housing grants. They are still active today helping to fund the school and road systems. Kerkorian remains as optimistic about the health of the Las Vegas resort industry as he was when he arrived in his Cessna in 1945. Personally, I wouldnt say its headed for a fall, says Kerkorian, except that there will be a leveling-out time, and the best hotels and the best operators are going to suffer less than the others. Those who know him describe him not as a hermit in the Howard Hughes fashion, but a gracious normal person. Kerkorian himself claims he is not reclusive. I have 30- or 40-year friendships that I prefer to meeting new people” he said. “I go to an occasional party, but just because I dont go to a lot of events, and Im not out in public all the time doesnt mean Im anti-social or a recluse”. It is not known how he celebrated his 90th birthday.Labels: billionaires, biography, Kirk Kerkorian, Las Vegas, USA

-ne By Seigler, Guest Columnist After failing to secure home field advantage for the upcoming super regional tournament, the Tigers are heading down to Mississippi to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs in a best of three match up. While it is disappointing that the Tigers will be unable to play in Clemson at this year’s super regional, the momentum gained during regional play should help them fare well no matter where they play. This is the seventh year total and the third year in a row that the Tigers have reached the super regional in the nine years since the super regional format was instituted. Last year, of course, Clemson entered super regional play against Oral Roberts as the #1 overall tournament seed, taking the first two games and advancing to Omaha and the College World Series. The Tigers of course, defeated Mississippi State in last years regional play in Clemson, winning the regional tournament.

Instead, I urged the reader to determine the validity of my arguments for interpreting Revelation 12:5 as the rapture before trying to decide when such an interpretation places the Rapture in relation to the tribulation. In this present essay, I will answer the question of the timing of the rapture in revelation 12:5 according to the chronological indicators in Revelation 11–13 and other contextual considerations. In both cases, the rapture of the male child must take place prior to the seven-year tribulation, or interpreters will be guilty of just not playing fair. The Complex AnswerAt this point, readers who have no sympathies for a pretribulational rapture view but who have been convinced by my arguments for the rapture in Revelation 12:5 will find themselves in a sort of crisis. There are really only three options for premillennialists: either it takes place during the first half of the seven-year tribulation, the second half of the tribulation, or during a period somewhere in the midst of the tribulation. The ministry of the two witnesses seems to be closely associated with the time of the reconstruction of the temple (Revelation 11:1 and following), which I understand as a literal event that will take place in the first half of the tribulation.Taken together, I think the evidence is quite strong that the 1,260-day ministry of the two witnesses must take place during the first half of the tribulation. If it refers to the second half, what has she been doing during the ministry of the two witnesses during the first? The portrayal of the events surrounding the woman during the seven-year tribulation clearly affect the placement of the rapture in relation to the tribulation, for the flight of the woman clearly occurs after the catching up of the male child (Revelation 12:5 and following). The time it takes to flee from the dragon and endure the attempted attack, then, occurs during the first half of the tribulation, while the two witnesses are prophesying and protecting Israel by their signs and wonders of judgment. The initial conflict between the woman and the dragon after the rapture of the church is described in terms of the dragon’s spewing water out of his mouth (Revelation 12:13–16). If the spewing of water and the miraculous deliverance of the woman refers to such a military campaign that takes place after the rapture, but prior to the woman’s 3 1/2 year preservation in the wilderness, this pulls the rapture back further than the midpoint of the tribulation. Moreover, if the miraculous thwarting of the dragon’s plans to destroy Israel takes place during the first half of the tribulation, it would occur at the same time the temple is being reconstructed and the two witnesses are prophesying (Revelation 11:1–6).

-ne Unbelievable.A single Arab family decides not to sell their house in the middle of one of the most important archaeological sites on the planet. (Israel’s birth is also distorted in a single, amazingly inaccurate sentence.) And Reuters proves yet again that it has an agenda, including a headline that generalizes the situation in an absurd way:Jewish history crowds out Jerusalem Arabs Fri Jun 8, 2007 9:09AM BST By Dan Williams JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Widad Sha’abani is living history — and not liking it much. Carved out of the teeming Silwan valley, below the walls of the Old City, the development is among several projects Israel has pursued in Arab East Jerusalem since capturing it 40 years ago this week — in the Six Day War of 1967 that many Jews saw heralding a return to the biblical Zion of King David. In the state of Israel today we have Jews and Arabs living side by side, and also in City of David are Jews and Arabs living side by side, said Doron Spielman, the project’s international director of development. Palestinian officials complain that East Jerusalem Arabs who sell their property to Jews often do so after years of exasperation with an Israeli municipality that is less than attentive to Muslim and Christian residents of the city.

Listening Heart: Go see FACING THE GIANTS movie/Sept 29

Array I wasn’t sure how I would spend the day but I liked the idea of doing whatever I wanted.I had already spent 2 days doing birthday stuff - the American Mother’s Conference on Saturday with my friend Marilyn, listening to Jane Clayson Johnson, Dr. Stephen Covey, and Marla Cilley (aka FlyLady); My grandma (or Abuela as we call her) called while I was waiting for my appointment and invited me (and Jr) to dinner. My dad had called while I was in the dentist’s chair so I called him back after and he invited me to lunch.I had a great time shopping with Julie and Abbie. My adorable aunt Nel called to ask me something else and then called back once she realized what day it was :). We came home and had been here 5 minutes before my friend Sherry and her daughter, Anna, came by to say ‘Happy birthday.’I took a 15 minute catnap and then helped Jr with his math homework before we left to meet my grandma for dinner at the restaurant where my sister works. Abuela (as we call her) and I split a rack of ribs…yum. My mom called while we were leaving the restaurant.

It was another hot and hazy day, so I put off going to Bellagio at the heart of lake Como, and decided to go to Bergamo, an anachronistic city roosted on top of a hill.Bergamo is really a cool old city.

KT, Fiona & myself went for the Bodycombat 29 launch at California Fitness Bugis branch last Wednesday evening, 7 September 2006. But in my opinion, the toughest portion is the double side kicks, cos we have to balance ourselves on one leg while doing 2 consecutive side kicks.Overall, though we’ve felt there’s a lack of rapport amongst the launch team members, the launch was still great fun nonetheless.

It’s not really a game but a program to help train your brain in minutes a day.

Besides the programs, there is a test that you can take where it will calculate your brain age. When I first started, my brain age was at around 59. A brain age of 20 is considered the best.

And we’re very grateful to Jerry Seinfeld for doing the show with us.On how Seinfeld came to them, not the other way around:Tina Fey: We could not be more excited to have Jerry Seinfeld on the show, because hopefully regular America might actually find out that we have a show and watch it maybe at least that one time. But there are a lot of shows that have components of what we have, but they don’t have everything we have.On tweaking the show’s tone of high-density humor for more character comedy:TF: I think we learned a lot about the tone of the show throughout the year and whether we want the characters to be believable enough that you still care about them, but still be able to do crazy jokes with them. This year, we are going to try to maybe try to do a little less, because the shows were so dense that sometimes we worried it was almost going by too quickly for the audience. I think you can make [the characters] pretty big, but I think it would be better if you believe that in somewhere, they’re actual human beings.AB: What I didn’t count on was how challenging this would be, because I think in the beginning we all tried to make it pop and tell the jokes and hit the jokes and everything. And then as the season went on, I think the show got better because we tried to make it more real.
